June 2004

Earl & The Overtones recorded at the JCR Recording Service, a crazy session ! After their gig in Sallanche (F), I left them at 3:00 in the morning packing their gear. At 10:00 I meet them in the studio in Vevey (150 km away) to cut the recordings. after 2 hours not even the first track is in the can....finally we finished at 21:00 and they had to go back to their hometown in Bourges (F) (500 km away), where they arrived at 3:30 in the morning just to sleep a couple of hours before to have to go to work.....crazy men....the result on a CD this autumn.... Rock'n'Roll for real !
Recording session for the Old Chaps, a local jazz and gospel band. Really an experiment to try to record something else than rockabilly....The tracks should be used in their upcoming CD next year.
The second Noisy Boys CD, "What's Damn' Wrong...?", had to be repressed as it was sold out 6 months after it was issued, they rock !

May 2004

Johnny Loda issues his first record on Blue Lake Records. After having played for more than 20 years in the italian rockabilly scene in various bands, the italian guitarist appears now as a solo artist. He brings out an excellent mixture of songs ranking from vintage style rockabilly to more modern things, including his own compositions. This represents a great overview of all the rockabilly styles that he's able to play. You can download samples from our CATALOG page.
After a long wait, the Rhythm 55 cd on our old JCR Records label has just been reissued !

Juin 2003

The JCR studio leaves Montreux to find a new location in Vevey. Indeed, we shared the place in Montreux with two local hard rock bands and it was becoming difficult to live with them...
As we tried to register the JCR Records label at the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), we've been told that another german label with the same name was already registered.
So we decided to create a new label with a name that represents our location: Blue Lake Records.

Many thanks to Jörg, from the Buffalos Chips, who created the new logo !

The JCR logo has been adapt and will still be used for the recording studio.
JCR Records won't be used anymore, or maybe as a secundary label...R.I.P...
